Mox Skincare Review: Why This Brand Should Be On Your Radar

If you’re like me, you may have been a little skeptical of hemp in skincare when the trend first became popular. But over the last year, I’ve seen a serious impact on my skin when I incorporate this powerful ingredient into my routine. So when Mox Skincare offered to send over their whole line, I was super excited to give it a try.

Behind the Brand: what Mox Skincare is all about

Mox skincare flatlay featuring facial cleanser, multivitamin serum, triple action toner, skin restore balm

Mox Skincare was created to provide effective, high-powered formulas in an industry that often thrives on false marketing claims and the allure of packaging. Their products are designed to help heal skin; to that end, the formulas only include the skin’s favorite nutrients. All the other stuff, the filler, isn’t there.

This means that the way you use these products is different. Rather than sitting on top of the skin and creating a nice feel, Mox’s products absorb into your skin and deliver real results. The formulas are highly concentrated, so you only need a small amount with each application.

When I spoke to Bob, one of the company’s founders, and Ben, one of the compounding pharmacists who works on product development, their passion for cutting through the bullshit in the skincare industry was evident. I am also thoroughly impressed by their commitment to sustainability, and how they source their ingredients from a local Colorado farm.

Mox Skincare Review: The Products

Facial Cleanser

Mox Facial Cleanser with CBD, peppermint and salicyclic acid

What It Is: An incredibly refreshing, powerful daily cleanser with Peppermint and Salicyclic Acid.

What It Does: This cleanser awakens the skin without stripping moisture. The Peppermint refreshes, while salicyclic acid gently exfoliates and combats blemishes.

Price: $26.00/3.4oz

My Thoughts: I have thoroughly enjoyed using this cleanser! The peppermint makes it super refreshing, and the salicyclic acid makes it amazing for my acne-prone skin. My favorite way to use this either as a second cleanse a few nights a week, or also as a post-workout face wash. It can also be used as a shaving cream, which my dad has done and enjoys. My only note – do not use this to remove eye makeup! you will go blind for a solid minute. Otherwise, its a standout face wash that I will 100% be repurchasing.

Mineral Hydrating Mist

Mox Skincare mineral hydrating mist with cbd, hyaluronic acid and polyelectrolytes

What It Is: A daily mineral hydrating mist boosted with Hyaluronic Acid

What It Does: Instantly refreshing, the polyelectrolytes in this mist also help to oxygenate and improve discoloration.

Price: $22.00/2oz

My Thoughts: I recently published a roundup of some of my favorite face mists, and while I hadn’t tested this long enough to include it in that post, I have absolutely loved this mist. It has a super fine spray and feels very refreshing.

Triple Action Toner

Mox Skincare triple action toner

What It Is: A toner with Glycolic Acid and Multi-Fruit Acids

What It Does: Energizes and exfoliates the skin. It also helps manage sebum production and smooth your complexion.

Price: $26.00/2oz

My Thoughts: This is a pretty strong liquid exfoliant, similar to the Youth to the People AHA toner. I used it a few times and felt serious tingling. While it’s a little intense for my skin (especially because my skin doesn’t love glycolic acid), it is a powerful liquid exfoliant that would work well if your skin is used to stronger acids.

Eye Bright

What It Is: A daily under-eye brightener serum with hyaluronic acid, honey and polyelectrolytes

What It Does: Tightens hydrates and softens eye areas.

Price: $36.00/1oz

My Thoughts: I love using lighter-weight serums around my eye area, and this is absolutely lovely. I’ve noticed my under-eyes looking brighter and more awake, and also more hydrated. This is comparable to the Indie Lee I-Waken Eye Serum (and a bit better).

Multivitamin Serum

Mox multivitamin serum

What It Is: A super serum formulated with Vitamins C, A, E, D, and K, plus squalene, the body’s natural moisturizer.

What It Does: Improves your skin’s tone, texture and moisture.

Price: $48.00/1oz

My Thoughts: I love a good hydrating serum, but this one takes it a step further. It contains no water or filler, so it even feels more high-powered than other serums I have tried. Its texture is honestly somewhere between a serum and an oil, and because of that I prefer to use it in the evenings. I think my skin just drinks it up – I notice softer, healthier looking skin in the mornings. Because it’s so potent, you only have to use 2-3 drops with each application. Pro tip: mix it with the mineral hydrating mist!

Restore Balm

Mox Skincare CBD restore balm

What It Is: A multi-purpose body and face balm with Vitamin C, Jojoba Esters and Cholesterol

What It Does: Helps hydrate, soften and revitalize

Price: $38.00/1oz

My Thoughts: This balm is a savior for any dry or irritated spots! I’ve found it to be amazing for the flakey areas I get on my forehead and by my eyes. It’s super powerful and you only need the tiniest amount (just as much as you get by pressing your finger into the jar) to see an effect. If you suffer from dry areas anywhere on your body, this is an amazing solution.

Muscle Roller

What It Is:  A solution for aches and soreness, with 500 MG of Hemp Extract + Mox’s pharmacist-formulated herbal blend.

What It Does: Helps patients with aches and soreness.

Price: $40.00/.33 fl oz

My Thoughts: This little rollerball has been amazing for my headaches and joint pain. I love using body balms to treat soreness, and this is even more powerful. I’m already planning on repurchasing!

Is Mox Skincare worth it?

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with all of the products I have tried from Mox. Their formulations and commitment to effectiveness really resonate with me, as someone who has tried countless skincare products.
