If you’re reading this, you’ve probably tried the pink clay mask from Sand & Sky. But have you heard of their latest product drop, the Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Powder Polish?
Sand & Sky launched their newest addition to their Glow Apple line in the beginning of May. But I actually got to test it for a few weeks prior, as the brand reached out to me in April about being a part of their #SecretSquad to trial the new product & give feedback. My response was obviously HECK YES! I have loved Sand & Sky since being introduced to them by the skincare Instagram community so working with them was a dream come true. Since being sent the product, it has become a weekly staple in my routine.
What’s Sand & Sky all about anyways?
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I adore Sand & Sky and have used every product in their line (you can read my other reviews here).
Twins Emily & Sarah Hamilton launched this brand with a goal of sharing Australian skincare with the rest of the world. They utilize ingredients unique to Australia, like Kaolin Clay and Kakadu Plum, to create clean, effective formulas. If you have always wanted to visit the land down under, this brand will give you all the Aussie vibes without the expensive plane ticket.
Their Latest Product: Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Powder Polish

So, what exactly is this latest addition to their product range, and why should you consider checking it out?
Sand & Sky began with the Pink Clay mask; Now, the line has two masks, a glow bi-phase serum and a flash exfoliator. The gentle, Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Powder Polish is a logical next step in their product line.
This jar of powder offers exfoliation that, while effective, is also safe for all skin types and concerns.
What does the Enzyme Powder Polish do?
In short, it exfoliates your skin and gives you a glow without irritating your skin – all in under a minute!
The fruit enzymes in the formula (sourced from papaya) gently smooth skin and allow you to reveal your glowing complexion underneath. It also packs in Vitamin C to brighten & even skin tone, and antioxidants to soothe skin and combat pollution. If you’re looking for smooth, even, and ultra-radiant skin, this is the product for you.
The best part: fruit enzymes are a very gentle type of exfoliant, so this is safe for even the most sensitive skin.

How exactly does enzyme exfoliation work?
What are enzymes?
Enzymes are a type of protein made by living things, according to Andrea Pfeffer, founder of a London skin clinic. “They act as a catalyst, speeding up or allowing reactions to happen in conditions that they usually wouldn’t.” While most of us know enzymes from AP Biology and think of them as occurring inside the body, they also work topically.
How do enzymatic exfoliators work?
For the skin, “enzymes break down the keratin protein in the upper layer of the skin, which bonds dead skin cells together.” When this is broken down, dead skin can be gently buffed off. Ultimately, this helps you achieve smoother, softer skin while also diminishing scars and pigmentation.
Are Enzymes better than Acids?
Enzymes aren’t inherently better than acids, but they can be better suited for sensitive skin. Since they work topically, and are not as potent, there is less of a chance for potential irritation. They are also a fantastic option for women who are pregnant.
How to Use the Sand & Sky Enzyme Powder Polish
Now that you have a better understanding of how this powder polish works, how do you use it?
Morning or night, pour out a half-spoon of polish into your palm (a few shakes). Next, add a few drops of water and rub hands together to create a foam. Gently massage onto a cleansed face and neck for 15 seconds (though sometimes I would massage it in for up to a minute!)
After rinsing, you’ll reveal softer, smoother, glowing skin!
If you’re looking for a little extra glow, you can swap out the water for their Dreamy Glow Drops. Personally, this made the formula a little sticky for me, and I preferred it with water.
My Review: Did I Achieve That Glow?
After using this for a few months, I can safely say the Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Powder Polish has become a staple in my routine. I love a good acid exfoliant, but as someone prone to wrecking my skin’s moisture barrier, they can often be a little too harsh for me. This powder is the perfect compromise – I get a little bit of physical & chemical exfoliation, but it’s so gentle that my skin doesn’t get irritated.
As you can see in the above before & after, there is a noticeable glow from the polish, and my skin looks softer and smoother.
I have found this product to be worth it, both in how effective it is and in the price. I’ve been using it for over twelve weeks now and still have more than 3/4 of the bottle left. It is a smart investment for anyone with sensitive skin or those seeking out products that will give them a gorgeous glow!
